Mixing Fashion and Giving Back: Dondolo + Sue Sartor: Two Luxury Brands Join Forces to Give Back to Underserved Communities in Colombia

Catalina Gonzalez, founder and designer of Dondolo, and Sue Sartor founder and designer of SUE SARTOR, first crossed paths when they were honored as 2021 Southern Living New Southern Tastemakers, a group of female entrepreneurs who are shaping the south. While celebrating this wonderful honor in Charleston last year, they discovered their shared sensibilities, mission, and passion for beautifully handcrafted designs. Catalina instantly connected with Sue Sartor’s vibrance and kindness. Both women value beautifully handcrafted designs, well-dressed tables, florals, and giving back.

Together Sue and Catalina continue to champion women-owned businesses and make an impact in their communities. The Dondolo + Sue Sartor collaboration will donate 10 percent of profits to Dondolo Gives, an organization that empowers women and children in underserved communities. These funds will help build a community center in Catalina’s native country, Colombia.

ABOUT THE COLLECTION:

The two decided to take their passions and join forces for a limited-edition collection that brings to life two prints. First, a floral which exemplifies the joy of both brands, a pink Peony Print, and next, a delicately hand-drawn Hamptons Toile, in styles for the entire family. The collection features exclusive silhouettes that combine the best of our brands, Sue Sartor’s best-in-class kaftan dresses with signature pipe and contrast prints with Dondolo’s signature hand-smocking intricate details.

The Dondolo + Sue Sartor Hamptons Family collection was inspired by the allure of the Hamptons from charming seaside towns to shingled buildings, boxwood hedges, and that coastal lifestyle.

The classic Hamptons Toile print is a tribute to a place Cata & Sue both love and is a nod to the launch of their collaboration this summer in Amagansett, NY. The toile-like fabric,  illustrated by artist Ashley Begley, presents sailboats, clams, windmills, tennis, cherries, and farm stands. Whether you’ve visited the Hamptons, return annually, or long for its splendors, these designs are sure to transport its wearer directly to the Hamptons.

The Dondolo + Sue Sartor Peonies Family collection showcases peonies, both Catalina's and Sue's all-time favorite flower, a symbol of joy, love, honor, and beauty. Peonies are also an expression of goodwill, which is a perfect representation of our mission to give back. Colombian artist Barbara Wiesner illustrated the fabric exclusively for Dondolo and Sue Sartor in colorways of green, pastel pink, and soft blue as a nod to Cartagena, Catalina’s hometown. These pink peonies bloom in harmony with bold stripes for pattern play.

Catalina's and Sue's shared affections for peonies spill onto tabletops for the Dondolo Peonies Home Collection. This collection features napkins, placemats, and ceramic plates hand-painted by artisans. The square napkins present lovely, hand-embroidered peonies in the corner. The placemats mirror the flourish of peonies across the apparel designs in this collection. Both napkins and placemats are finished with a refined, scalloped border. With these Dondolo Peonies designs, we intend to spread joy and love throughout your home.

We hope you delight in all the collection has to offer, and the impact it makes across the world. Shop the Dondolo + Sue Sartor limited-edition family and entertaining collection at Dondolo.com before it sells out!
